Burgess will now send your salary to your MarTrust E-Wallet, which provides you with increased flexibility. However, if you would prefer to continue receiving your salary in your nominated bank account, then you can set up a Salary Disbursement within your MarTrust E-Wallet in just a few easy steps:
1.add the bank account details for your nominated account
2.add the percentage of your salary you wish to be automatically sent to this nominated account; and
3.click update.
As soon as your salary has been deposited in your MarTrust E-Wallet, any percentage that you have set up as a Salary Disbursement will be automatically sent to your nominated bank account, by urgent bank transfer. Once set up, this will continue when you receive future salary payments unless you choose to change this at a later date. You can therefore still receive any percentage of your salary into your nominated bank account, at no cost to you.
This can vary depending on the currency and country that the payment is sent to, but all MarTrust bank transfers are processed as urgent wires. Urgent wires can be received on the same day sent, although in most instances they would take up to 2 days to be received, with some countries and currencies taking up to 7 days.
Please note that there are cases where the payment may be stopped by correspondent banks for additional compliance checks, which sits outside of MarTrust’s control and can create delays to the settlement of the funds to the beneficiary account. This would not be any different from the existing process you have today, however, since all bank payments need to go through the same process.
Most employers pay for the first transfer home following payroll, however, Burgess have chosen to provide you with 2 free transfers. Please note, that if you do not use the free transfers offered before their next payroll is made, you will forfeit the free transfer.
The requirement for an IBAN is typically only relevant for EUR payments, where any bank offering an “overseas” EUR account would normally always provide an IBAN. Please set up the payee in the currency in which the account is held, e.g., Nepalese Rupee, Philippine Peso or Indian Rupee, and you will not be required to provide an IBAN. You will instead be asked to provide the information that is relevant to send the currency to their home country, e.g., in addition to an account number, an IFSC code is required for Indian Rupee payments into India
All payments sent will show as coming from MarTrust E-Wallet. MarTrust processes tens of thousands of payments every month, on behalf of crew from all over the world. Global Banks are aware that MarTrust is a maritime only payment provider who specialises in crew payroll payments, that we are a UK FCA regulated entity who works exclusively with Citibank, that all funds are screened at source to adhere to regulations that any payment from this account is clearly to do with payroll for one of our corporate customers.
In the rare cases where a beneficiary bank requests further information, the crew member can simply provide a copy of their payslip to prove this is a salary payment and the funds are always released. Furthermore, MarTrust can send communications to any bank involved to provide additional supporting evidence/confirmation in case anything is required.
Both the MarTrust Salary on Demand and Cash Collection features will not be available to Burgess Crew initially, but this may be something that is added later, subject to demand and agreement with Burgess.
